A meeting is taking place in London this week at an e-Biosphere conference from June 1st to June 3rd concerning a database with information from the public on anything to do with the life of the planet from insects to plants going on in your area.  It is hoped it will remain a free system that everyone can access or contribute to.  Perhaps a little like Wikipedia but solely concentrating on Life on Earth from insects and birds and not necessarily the effects of farming and ecology on wildlife.  Which I think would also be useful to plot. For example the effects of spraying on the bee population.    

What appears to be the driver is the imported grain unwittingly carrying a malaria mosquito or noting the migration patterns of birds to avoid ‘bird-strike’ to planes.  

While this sounds an interesting, beneficial idea what other intrigue will this information be used for?

I devised a very gentle stretch routine for myself while chronically ill with CFS/ME and it helped hugely. Here it is for everyone who should stretch and that quite frankly is everyone regardless of illness or age, this is gentle enough. Children under the age of 14 may not need to stretch or if they do, only for 5 seconds each stretch.

Someone said to me: Is that an aught to, or must do, or should do?  Or is it an ‘I want to do’?

I want to?  That filled me with dread, I don’t know what I want!

When I was learning Spanish, I learnt that the verb: I Want, can also mean: I Love.  

So instead of applying I want to do, when planning and plotting the day, apply I love to do.  It gives a completely different mindset to what you do.  

I love to do the ironing.  Eh?  No I don’t!  

I love to sit at a desk and do Admin Work.  Hmmm I don’t think so! 

I love to do the vacuuming.  Yes, I do love that actually, makes me feel so much better afterwards.

I love counselling people.  Yes I do love that, it is great to be helping people with the hope that they make choices about their lifestyles that make them happier.

Naturally there is I have to, when you have no choice in the matter, things have to be done, but if the I have to, is done in a fashion of I love to do it this way, then it takes the sting out of the I have to do things.

Interesting thought for the day: Apply Love to whatever you do.

We used to be a nation that would try to educate kids,
but now we focus on ways to medicate kids
We label them as victims and addict ‘em to toxic chemicals that tricked ‘em into thinkin’ we somehow fixed ‘em for life
But in reality it’s medical insanity,
a chemical calamity
scientific profanity
And it’s a horrible mistake that never had to be
Modern psychiatry is guilty of crimes against humanity.

And that’s the way that it’s gonna be
Unless you stand up and make the changes you wanna see
A non-medicated mind is ready to be free
but that’s too dangerous, don’t you see?

Doctors puttin kids on speed

January 16th, 2009The Miracle on the Hudson

Wow.

I could not believe it when I saw the news yesterday.

At the time I thought ‘the angels have got hold of that plane and landed it’.

That is not to dismiss the skill of the Pilots.

It was incredible that such skilled Pilots were on the very plane that needed such miracle navigation to safely land the plane in water; a landing of that type has never been done before. Skill they had, help they surely had.

I wait to hear the Pilot’s and Co-Pilot’s stories.

I also praise the passengers themselves for their calmness in waiting to be picked up. They must have been terrified and yet from the pictures on the new’s report, they all looked so calm.

Thank you God. It so uplifting hearing such wonderful news.

The Government has given the go-ahead for the new runway at Heathrow.

The word detox fills me with dread. Detox dieting sounds really nasty and I wouldn’t touch those eating programmes with a barge pole.

Or would I?

What do those designers of eating regimes mean by detox?

Detox first showed its ugly head through potions - thick green ones supposedly loaded with herbs and nutrients to help you detox. Putting in more ’stuff’ for the body to assimilate and digest and produce further toxins to help expel the supposed toxins already present.

But I think nothing spectacular occurred and all the dieter was left with was glass smeared with the nasty liquid and a nasty taste in the mouth.

Then I think Nutritionists got involved and designed a ‘good food’ eating plan but continued with the name ‘detox’ because it would help sell their ideas.

That’s fine. I think we all know now what Good Food is and what synthetic foods we shouldn’t touch. I think we all know that we should be eating many portions of vegetables and fruit with some protein. I think we all know what ‘good’ food is.

Being anatomically minded my questions are:

  1. How does a body get toxic in the first place because its very design is to flush out toxins all the time.
  2. How does anyone know when the body is not fulfilling its tasks of adequate toxin removal?

You would need some very serious symptoms to know if the body was toxic. Very serious conditions affecting the liver, kidneys, stomach, pancreas, bile duct, digestive system, gut, colon, heart, circulation, lymphatics etc etc etc.

Over Christmas my son said he was meated out and needed some more vegetables. He has a vorocious appetite. He is a healthy eating machine. We eat a lot of vegetables and fruit, probably could do with eating more. I said Whatever meat you have eaten is not an much as would have been in a Spaghetti Bolognese for example, you are suffering from a lack of movement. Not too much food and not too much ‘wrong’ food.

I don’t mean Sporting movements like Running, Pumping Iron at the Gym or Mountain Climbing. I mean simple movement.

Movement is the first very necessary action that stimulates the body’s organs to get on with their work.

In the winter when it is cold and even more so this winter that has been so freezing, we move our bodies less, a lot less.

Tiny misalignments of the bony structures are caused by poor posture, lack of movement, and the way we complete activities.

These misalignments cause blockages of the flow of cerebrospinal fluid from the brain and spinal cord, challenges the lymphatic flow and the blood and nerve supples.

Most of the time these blockages are only slight and are easily remedied by normal movement. How often do we hear a click when we stand up and stretch after sitting for so long?

But sometimes the misalignment gets stuck and isn’t so easily corrected without massage and a programme of serious stretches.

In either case toxins can get trapped and are not so easily moved once the body is working more efficiently. It isn’t more food or more nutrients the body needs, it is movement. From your own activities or from professional massage and stretching classes.

The body is perfectly designed to do its own detoxing and so to aid it:

But if dancing is not for you, read below for a programme of movement and stretching:

  1. Bend down and allow the top of your head to point to the floor.
  2. Allow your shoulders to hang and your arms to dangle.
  3. Stand with your feet hip width distant apart and try and keep your legs straight, ie knees pushed back. It may hurt at first so if this is too uncomfortable bend your knees slightly and try and straighten them at times through this programme.
  4. Feel the stretch in the back of your upper legs, lower legs and spine.
  5. After a minute or two, staying in that position, bring your hands together and push them through your legs.
  6. Push and release several times.
  7. Bring your hands back to the front and twist around and take your hands outside your left leg and then twist around and take your hands to the outside of your right leg.
  8. Do this several times slowly.
  9. With your head still hanging down to the floor, bring your left arm up to the ceiling, twisting your upper body and bringing your right around to the front.
  10. Do the same movement to the opposite side - your right.
  11. Stand up.

This movement has stretched every aspect of the spine allowing freer movements of fluids and nerve supply. The neck and shoulders have been stretched and this movement has also stretched the hamstrings and gluteals and calf muscles. And you have stretched the beginnings of the psoas muscle which is part of the hip-flexors.

If you are suffering with CFS/ME or any chronic condition you may need to lie down for a while after this stretching.

If you are not suffering from any chronic condition, then go to jump up and down on the spot. This is energetic and may be too much for those suffering with CFS/ME or any chronic condition.

  1. Start jumping by allowing your heels to leave the floor but not the toes - so that you are bouncing. Keep your knees very slightly bent.
  2. Now jump for a minute, little jumps on the spot.

Stretch the spine out again in the manner above.

Now you are ready to get on with your day!

And your body is ready to detox itself - naturally.

Chemicals are naturally found in nature.

Every plant and animal and indeed ourselves are made up of chemicals.  We naturally need them as they develop in the situation where they are found with other chemicals.

Individual chemicals are especially, even dangerously, powerful when separated from their natural neighbours that they start life with.

This is when the trouble with chemicals starts.

One constituent of tea-tree oil - phenol - has disinfectant properties. We have heard of phenolic acid found in disinfectants used to clean floors. The reason the floor cleaner is so powerful and poisonous and has to be kept out of the reach of children is because the phenol has been taken out of its natural habitat and concentrated in a product.

Man then decided to investigate the individual chemical further and split it, found the atom and split that into protons, nutrons and electrons. All very interesting but the discovery led to nuclear bombs as well as nuclear energy.

Then man decided to put parts of one chemical with another so creating synthetic chemicals.

Vitamin E is required for fertility. It was noted in a trial that synthetic Vitamin E had little or no effect on fertility while natural vitamin E produced good results.

Vitamin C works better in the body when it is with its natural parts produced when nature grows an orange or a lemon - bioflavanoids and rutin to name a few.

It is not chemicals that are unnatural but the unnatural use of them to produce unnatural substances.
